Of Interns And Boycotts

A self confessed workaholic I profess to be
A boycott didn't seem like my cup of tea.
But this I must confess
The fun in it aint any less.
A rural internship is a thought ambitious
But how it'll work makes me curious.
For one can't treat all with love and fresh air
And paracetamol and water are the only medicines there.
But now I begin to digress
That isnt the the issue I plan to address.
For if I start with that I'll go on and on
And you, kind reader,a nightcap will don.
From slogans and posters to a candelight vigil,
To prevent the passing of an unfair bill.
Street plays and protests we've done them all
Hoping that someone will hear our call.
But my sides they threaten to split
For so laughter-packed have been the minutes
Of working together towards a common aim
So that our studying doesn't go in vain
For as the government keeps increasing the years we have to learn
At this rate, parents and their kids will be co-interns
And a PG degree will take new meaning
As per the current polictical leaning
A resident doctor they will then propose
To mean a doctor living in every household.
Oh!Why are all these silly rules inflicted on the medical profession
By the guys holding the winter session
For one would think that it those who make such laws
Should be docs too so that they'd know the flaws
For these were not the rules we agreed to live with
When we entered medicine, they weren't even in the fine print.
They say Service before Self and I agree
But for that, under my belt,I require a few degrees
But if the Ministry has its way
That will be many decades away.

Liff As I Know It!
